The Pantry

The pantry is a membership discount grocery shop that supports families and individuals who are living in hardship. 

 

We hope the pantry brings dignity in accessing affordable food.

 

Pantry Membership is not just for people on benefits, it is for anyone who is feeling financial hardship, and membership is FREE.  You can join in-store. See website or call in for details.

 

Members pay £4.00 per visit, and get ten items free from the shop.

Members can pick up additional items at very low prices.

Food Donations​​

Food donations are warmly welcomed, and will be sold to local families and individuals who are struggling with hardship to help them avoid crisis.

​

Due to the nature of food hygiene, we can only accept food donations from unopened packaging, or pre-washed home grown fruit and veg.

​

We cannot accept home-made or home-cooked food like pies/cakes.

​

Yes to apples from your apple tree, but no to apple pie you make from them.

All our staff undergo regular training, and in addition to our Basic Training which includes Health & Safety, First Aid, Safeguarding and Covid Awareness, our people will have specific training for their roles.

All of our training courses are fun and engaging. We have presented a range of learning platforms that include: classroom, online, videos and booklets.  We have optional additional training available for volunteers and employed, to boost their CV and prepare for other work.

Membership Rules

Food Pantry Rules​​

Membership is free and for people living in hardship and who are trying to avoid a financial crisis.

​

RULE 1

Be polite and respectful to all other customers, staff and volunteers

​

​RULE 2

You must be a registered member of the pantry, with full declaration of information made

​

RULE 3

Items are sold in lots of 5, 10 or 15 items.

​

RULE 4

15 items maximum

​

RULE 5

Members should not attend under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other forms of substances that impair judgement

​

RULE 6

Shoppers provide their own bags

​

RULE 7 

Abuse (verbal or physical) of people and abuse of the pantry service will not be tolerated, and will trigger and immediate suspension from membership
